Hi! I’m Andrea. I feel silly writing this ‘About Me’ page. I’ve always felt like ‘About Me’ pages are for real bloggers. You know, the ones who actually know what they’re doing, weaving beautiful photos and words into delightful stories. I don’t know what I’m doing. Instead, my [amateur] photos are laced with a heavy dose of sarcasm and the hope that at least my Mom and Dad will find my silly stories somewhat entertaining.
After graduating with my Masters of Environmental Studies, having no real responsibilities, and looking for a new challenge, I decided (somewhat on a whim) to move across the country (from Ontario to British Columbia) with my boyfriend, to experience the beautiful west coast of Canada. So far, we haven’t been disappointed one bit (oceans, mountains, old growth!), though we do miss our Ontario home, family, and friends. Bittersweet.
I started this little blog as a way of documenting our drive across Canada, as well as our subsequent travels and adventures in and around Vancouver and abroad. For me, Adventure Shoes serves as a journal of this time and the lessons learned along the way; reflections which we can look back on with fondness in years to come, laughing at ourselves and our naïveté. In this way, the blog has been a nice way to share bits and pieces of our Vancouver life with friends, family, and whoever cares to listen.
