Searching for Sea Lions

When Mom and Dad came to visit a few weeks back, one of the first parks we went to visit was Whytecliff park. It was on J and I’s list to explore because of the promise of sea lions in abundance.

Unfortunately for us, the sea lions were hiding on the day we decided to go, fortunately for us, however, the park is beautiful and made for a nice little explore, despite the absence of our sea lion friends.

The main attraction (as far as we could tell) was a large rocky outcrop protruding from the shoreline. Naturally, we scrambled our way over the rocks and took a few photos at the top (pretending to be explorers, as one does). It was a nice (360 degree) view, overlooking the surroundings – Cliffside beach houses on one side, open ocean and mountains on the other. Nothing to complain about here.

Although Whytecliff was quite a bit smaller than we had anticipated and only took us a short time to see (we ended up being able to squeeze in Cypress mountain and Lynn Valley in the same day), it made for a nice outing on an otherwise grey, overcast day.

Sea lions, we’re coming back to see you next time!
